If Pluto Could Talk by Emily Siy

If I could talk what would I say
Well maybe I would be happy and gay
If I could just play with the other big planets
Like Hula-hoop with Jupiter Janet
Sure I’m too small to play with the other nine
Cause I’ve only got the moons that are mine
In comparison to Earth and me
I’m too minute to see
I’m a dwarf planet so they say
In their group I cannot stay
With the Sun, the Moon, the Earth and star
With nothing but Charon, Nix, Hydra, and a star

I wander around in my Kuiper Belt
Thinking about how I felt
Before I was demoted
Then the other planets gloated
I’m made of rock and ice
But, I’m still very nice
I was discovered in 1930
And I do not talk dirty
I resemble a blueberry
Not a cherry
And if you try to find me I’m like a needle in a haystack
But give it a whack

If you understand math you like this
I’m the outlier of the planets
I’m easy to miss
You know Disney’s Pluto
But I’m much better
I run around the Sun
And don’t wear a sweater
I’m part of astronomy
But you can still study me
In 2006 the IAU group told me I wasn’t a planet
That’s when I took it for granted
But you are quite right
I’m a tiny knight
