If I Had The Chance To Explore Mars
by Rebecca Wofford

Mars is the fourth planet from the sun.  It is often referred to as the Red Planet because its rocks, soil and sky have a red hue.  Its atmosphere is mostly made up of carbon dioxide but there are small amounts of other gases.  Before exploration, Mars was thought to be the most likely planet to harbor extraterrestrial life.  It is a fascinating planet from what we have learned so far.  Exploring such a planet would be quite the adventure.

People have yet to explore Mars personally.  So far, we have only sent machines to observe.  I am sure humans will explore this planet themselves eventually.  We have found a lot of information already by just using machines but I think actually going there would allow us to learn much more.  I would love to have such an experience.

We have not succeeded in finding a way for human exploration of Mars yet, but I am certain we will.  Human knowledge and ability advances every day.  There was a time when the world was thought to be flat.  Most people believed taht false fact.  It was ridiculous when people, for example, Christopher Columbus, suggested the world being round.  Now we have advanced so much we can set our own two feet on the Earth's Moon and see with our own eyes the spherical shape of our planet.

So if such an amazing opportunity came around, I would be greatly interested.  I would hope to discover even more about this planet.  Mars and our limited exploration of it leaves curiousity and an open door to what we could in the future make possible.
