Description:
We will be hosting a Star Party for the 8th Graders at Amargosa Creek Middle School on Wednesday, June 1st at 7:30pm. Set up time is approximately 6:30 pm. Further info on where to enter school grounds and area to set up will be coming.
We need members with telescopes, meteorite collection, and other astronomy items of interest to show the kids. We will be doing some solar observing, and then some dark sky observing.

Description:
Brite Lake is 90 acres located on Banducci Road, off the intersection of Highline Road and Highway 202. The campground has hook-ups and tent sites. Restrooms and showers are located near the camping grounds. All overnight camping is first-come first-serve, reservations are not accepted. Fishing is available at the lake, as well as picnic pavilions. Brite Lake is open all year long.
Brite Valley Aquatic Recreation Area is owned by the Tehachapi-Cummings County Water District and operated by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District. Water from Brite Valley Lake is used for agriculture and as a domestic water supply. Therefore, swimming, wading or any activity involving bodily contact with the water in the lake is absolutely prohibited. Continued use of the recreation area by the public is dependent upon the protection of the purity of the water for use as a domestic supply.

Description:
Camp Oakes is the home to the RTMC Astronomy Expo. Located 7 miles from Big Bear lake at 7250 feet, it is a YMCA camp that for 5 days during the spring is converted to an observing and astronomy expo.
