Dark Sky Star Party for those who are not attending Mt. Wilson. It is unknown how many or if any members will attend due to the Mt. Wilson trip on Sunday.

Dark sky star party to be held at Chuchupate in the Trailhead Parking Lot.

You may arrive at any time for the star party. This is an overnight star party. If you will be leaving sometime in the evening, please park your car facing the entrance/exit way to make exiting the area easier. Use your parking lights on leaving until you are away from the astronomers.

(Some astronomers are doing astrophotography, and the lights will interfere. There are also other clubs that come and use the area for astronomy)

You need to bring your own food, snacks, water and drinks.

Location: Trailhead Parking Lot, Chuchupate: the Chuchupate parking lot is a half a mile beyond the Mt Pinos ranger station (on some maps The Chuchupate Ranger Sta., the parking lot is also called Frazier Mountain trailhead).

To get there, take the Frazier Mountain Park RD east about 7 miles from I-5, to Lake Of The Woods, Turn left on Lockwood Valley Rd. ( If you see Mike’s Pizza on your left you missed the turn) In less than a mile there is a road to the left, go past the ranger station, the parking lot is on the right. The Club gathers in the upper end of the lot. The Elevation is 5430 feet. There is a vault toilet. There is no running water or shade.
